Acoustic Emission Test (AET)

Acoustic Emission Test (AET)

Acoustic emission testing is a method that used to analyze emitted sound waves caused by cracks growing, fibers breaking and many other modes of active damage in stressed materials. These acoustic waves are induced by small deformations, corrosion or cracking, which occur prior to structure failure. Locating the source of defects and monitoring the propagation and development of discontinuities can be accomplished by using multiple sensors/channels which directly coupling on the specimen under test and loading the specimen.
