Positive Material Identification (PMI)

Positive Material Identification

Positive Material Identification (PMI)  is based on XRF principle (X ray fluorescence). Equipment used for the service contains low radioactive source (isotopes) or X-ray tubes which generates energy. As every element has its own atomic structure, this reflection generates a different energy level of each element. The energy is measured and detected to identify mixture of the alloy elements. Thus, the method is well qualified one for you to find out the type of element in your materials

Application:

Positive Identification is used for inspect ferrous and non-ferrous materials, stainless steels, Aluminum alloys or exotic materials. It can be used for inspection on valve, valve component, pipe fittings, machine parts, weld and weld overlays to verify that materials meet engineering specifications. In addition to compatibility issues including design, corrosion resistance and compliance to codes and standard, it provides testing in both laboratory and field condition.

Benefit Positive Material Identification :

– Highly portable with battery, can be used on site
– Quick and accurate analysis
– Leave no mark on sample to be examined
