Tank Floor Scan by Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) Tank Floor Scan by Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL)

Tank Floor MFL scanning is a fast inspection technique used a magnetic field to detect corrosion and pitting in carbon steel. MFL uses a powerful magnet to magnetize the steel tank bottom. The magnetic field leaks from defects --corrosion or material loss-- will be detected by MFL sensors. 3D MFL can provide discrimination between top and bottom surface defects.

Application:
Topside and underside wall loss detection on ferrous material
Carbon steel aboveground storage tank bottom

Benefits:
Underside wall loss can be detected
Fast method for inspecting large area
Coating removal is not necessary
Full tank floor mapping
Full data recording
